Welcome to Baking Gluten Freedom!

I'm Emma Armstrong, the self-taught gluten free home baker behind Baking Gluten Freedom!

I first started baking gluten free in 2016 when my partner, David, was diagnosed with coeliac disease. As someone who was just getting into baking as a hobby it was a bit of a shock to the system at first, but thankfully I quickly realised I'd just have to bake without gluten instead! Since my first few rather unsuccessful (or pretty disgusting) attempts it's been onwards and upwards with my gluten free baking journey!

A world without gluten can be a daunting, complicated and sometimes miserable place. With Baking Gluten Freedom I'm sharing with you the things I bake to make the gluten free world better, one bake at a time.

Recipes to Bake the Gluten Free World Better

Some recipes in the gluten free baking universe are quick, easy and simple to make, but the results barely resemble their glutenous counterpart. Others are complex and call for several specialised and hard to find ingredients in order to produce a decent result. My recipes aim to be the best of both worlds: ALWAYS a fantastic result, and you'll never feel like you need a map to read the ingredient list.

As someone who is lucky enough to still be allowed to eat without dietary restrictions I have the highest standards for my gluten free recipes. If a recipe doesn't result in a product that is at least as good as a regular gluten-containing product in taste, texture and appearance then I won't share it with you!
